Enjoy Your Meal
The time it takes for your packets to cook totally depends on what each kid included and how the temperature of your coals.
Keep an eye on your watch, of course, but teach your kids instead to pay attention to how they smell. A good rule to follow it once you really start to smell them, wait about five more minutes, then take one out to check. Use that flat rock you’ve got to help you out.
When one is good, they should be all good, but honestly they’re hard to mess up. If you’ve done it right, and the juices stay intact, it’s really more a matter of how they like they’re veggies cooked. Pull them out of the fire, and place them on a sturdy plate. The foil will be hot! React accordingly. Mess kit bowls work great for this.
Make sure the kids use caution when they open their packet. Steam will certainly come out. Enjoy! Whatever’s left can be wrapped up quick or tossed in a plastic bag and mixed with eggs in the morning for breakfast.
